Is Everything We Know About Training Wrong?

We were all taught that muscles contract and relax. They get tight, they relax, they produce force. This is true but not the whole story. Strengthening the weak and stretching the tight is a valid approach but one simple question is often forgotten... WHY is a muscle tight? WHY is a muscle weak? A muscle gets tight or weak for a reason. Understanding the "WHY" can make a difference in a client's outcome.
