Posture and Athletics - Pain in the Neck!

That knot! That knot that everyone wants you to rub on. You know the one I am talking about. The knot between the neck and the shoulder. That one that is tight and burns and aches. That one that you have told your clients about a thousand times over that it is due to their posture.

As I travel the country speaking on the shoulder, posture is a pretty big component of my seminar. Usually, I speak about posture in the context of the more numerically mature population. However, it seems like daily I am having younger and younger athletes complain of that levator area knot and pain.

"Can you massage it for me?" Sure, I can massage it for you, but it is going to come back!!! Until there is a purposeful intervention to stabilize the core and scapular region, it will keep coming back - again and again and again!

It isn't just athletes who have this problem. A tremendous number of production workers and people with desk jobs complain of the exact same scenario.
